Olá everyone,
2017 has just begun, its first month’s over and I just felt like giving a life sign and keeping you up with what happened. Although, January was quite quiet, I still have some things to write about.
So, obviously, first there was new year’s eve — in here being celebrated with the whole of my hostfamily plus their relatives, summing up to nearly 40. Normally that frame would’ve been way too big for my personal taste, but in this case — with a big, delicious family dinner being eaten and some decent firework being sent in the air at midnight — it worked out pretty well. (And besides, I was having fun posting some totally silly pictures of my dressed-up self on Instagram.)
After the holidays had seen their end, (naturally) school started once again in Portugal — surprisingly being quite enjoyable for me so far. I have had many memorable experiences in there this month, which will always occupy a certain part of me. One good example was visiting a church named “Igreja da Vera Cruz” with our Portuguese-for-foreigners teacher, when there was being hold an annual event. In this event, some hard sugary bread, meant to be caught and eaten, was thrown down to the streets from the church’s roof. To our surprise, my class’s maths teacher was actually throwing some of it down there too. On a notice — this whole process seemed quite dangerous and probably lead to some broken limbs and open wounds in the past. Farther, we are going to have a day trip to Lisbon and a two-day skiing trip to “Serra da Estrela”, the only chain of mountains in Portugal, which actually can be taken seriously, within the frame of my school activities, the coming week — and I’m totally ready to rumble!
In a nutshell, everything is going well and 2017 has started off grandiosely for me. I hope it has done so for you as well!
Julian
Very proud Julian
Muito obrigado!
